I know that Three Lobed are releasing a Glacial LP which includes Lee sometime in the New Year... That's all that I can remember off the top of my head!

Pre-Language (release date: March 01) should be seriously bitchen — not only is it their first studio album with Steve, it's also produced by John Congleton (who did St. Vincent's amazing Actor and her SUPREME Strange Mercy). As for the D-W/L-SS LP, "Salem", from the limited-edish seven-incher still available at the SY store, is a mighty cool preview. Buy it before it's gone, beyotches!

Thanks Johnny I forgot about that one! and The Soup Nazi... looks like March is when it all happens then!

Looking at The Eternal & Demolished Thoughts after some time, I was much more into that second, personally.

There was a lot of talk about a Thurston/Kim split a couple of months ago, but up to now I haven't seen it... I reckon that'll see release in 2012?

I'm hopeful for some sort of Sonic Youth release(s) in 2012, maybe some re-issues/ live albums/dvd's etc...

See, this is where Moshe would've introduced "?"'s and "!"'s.

There was that interview with Lee a few months back where he mentioned some archival releases... Sister demos and a live show from 1985.
Then there's the kind of stuff they once mentioned as being in the pipeline that I haven't heard about for years: EVOL tour film, pre-Geffen era DVD, etc.

Yeh but I'm not Moshe :p he told me that he wasn't going to start a 2012 thread this year and that I could do it instead.... so give me a break it's my first year doing it :D

This is what I'm hoping for.... I was only going to stick with confirmed releases for this year but I might change that. :)

I could be mistaken, but didn't Lee mention a Sister deluxe not too long ago? That could prove cool. Dirty's deluxe disc could have served almost as a whole new album...thing was gorgeous.

Pelle 12.30.2011 07:29 AM

Wow, a siter deulxe would be awesome.

Matter of fact, I am listening to Catholic Block right now and I have, strange enough, the same feeling I had the first time I heard it (and SY), nostalgic. I don't want this to be the fucking end :(

pokkeherrie 12.30.2011 08:00 AM

Did Lee say Sister Deluxe or just Sister Demos? Because I think it was the latter... unless he meant working on Sister Demos to be included in a Sister Deluxe.

Ah, constructive criticism never hurt anyone... in 2012, the old adagium "thank you, Moshe" will be replaced by "thank you, Stu".

off topic:

i didn't report it (which is bad and not really like me, but i couldn't be bothered during christmas. the last time i had to report something at the police it took 3 hours and this time i had practically no info at all so i figured it wouldn't have helped much). bike is finished, but it needed replacement anyway, the gear was already fucked and the chain would come off pretty often... it's just a hassle to get a new one. hand still hurts a bit when i move the fingers, but at least it's not broken.
