I do not think Cindy Lee can reasonably be described as commercial by any stretch of the imagination, but whatever. It has girl-group sounds so I guess it’s the Supremes.

Like I said: They are moving away from Lo-Fi to Hi-Fi... with... each... new... release i.e. Women and early Lee sound nothing like the new stuff. It happens to most bands so is no surprise to find it here, just disappointing. Give me the murk ffs

Diamond Jubilee sounds like it was recorded from a college radio station onto a tape and then played back but whatever

The new Big Brave takes a few spins to get used to their more mellow sound compared to their previous one(s). But hell, I played it loud in my car just now and it has the best guitar sounds you could ever wish for.

If you like weird minimalistic noisepop rock music, you should check out the new Kee Avil

The best new record I've heard this year, not that I've listened to much, is A Lonely Sinner by samlrc - it's extremely zoomer, as you can tell by its fanbase (I like that it played off RYM's distaste for furries with its love of post-rock), but it's a really strongly pieced together album that doesn't rely on too many tropes for its sound and explores some cool territory.

The new Einstürzende Neubauten was cool too, but it's pretty repetitive over the course of the 80 minutes (which makes sense considering how it was developed). I've downloaded that Cindy Lee album off Soulseek but haven't gotten around to it yet, and I missed my chance to say I was on it before it was cool.

NEIL YOUNG WITH CRAZY HORSE

EARLY DAZE

PRE-ORDER BEGINS TODAY
RELEASE DATE: JUNE 28

Early Daze is a collection of rare and unreleased studio recordings by Neil Young with Crazy Horse. The 10 songs were all recorded in 1969 with a Crazy Horse line-up of Danny Whitten (guitar and vocals), Ralph Molina (drums and vocals), Billy Talbot (bass and vocals), Jack Nitzsche (keyboards, tambourine, and vocals). None of the 10 tracks have been released on LP before.

This new collection of Neil Young with Crazy Horses' earliest recordings include several original versions that have not been released before, and along with the 7-inch Mono mix that was released in 1970 that includes a guitar outro not on original LP version. All the songs on Early Daze sound and feel like a new beginning for where rock & roll was going at the end of the 1960s. The tide was turning on some of the psychedelic experimentation of the San Francisco bands, and moving towards a style of intricate songwriting and bands that were able to take the beginnings of folk-rock and find new ways to let it explode in different settings. Neil Young with Crazy Horse were leading the charge in this completely expressive style of new music. It opened doors for a wide variety of new styles, and allowed a whole generation of musicians to find a new way forward. In many ways, that achievement is still growing.

On June 28, black vinyl, compact disc and digital editions will be released. A limited edition clear vinyl edition, which includes an exclusive poster, will be available through the Greedy Hand Store and at independent retailers. Hi-Res digital audio will be available at Xstream Store © through Neil Young Archives and most DSPs.

Amazing.
He already issued the Archives for this period in time, and still there's jams like these that weren't included

This should be amazing indeed... No dough to order the limited edish vinyl at the moment, though. :(
